On November 18, the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce hosted its Fall Virtual Job Fair, the latest in our efforts to support our borough’s workforce. The job fair allowed Island residents to meet, interview, and network with employers, and was free for employers and job seekers.

This year’s Small Business Saturday, occurring on November 28, serves as a fantastic opportunity for consumers to show their appreciation and shop at many of the borough’s small businesses.

There are no half commitments,” he said. “The Staten Island Chamber of Commerce has the best concentration of businesses in America. It is the most active. It is the way to network. I attribute a great deal of our success as a company by having a presence with the Chamber of Commerce.”

As Scamardella Funeral Home has serviced the community for over 90 years, Scamardella says that aspect is a big reason her father joined the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce 50 years ago.

“There are no ifs, ands, or buts. You can go across the country, and you know the Chamber of Commerce is a legitimate organization. If you belong to the Chamber, people know you have a clean record and no complaints against your business,” he said.

The Staten Island Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that Michael Baugh and Stephen Colavito have joined its team as Small Business Specialists.

“I became involved and I realized how important it was to deal with all these different types of businesses on Staten Island. I think we got a lot of benefits -- and we still do -- from being members of the Chamber,” he said.
