Member Meetups
Held quarterly (at least!), Member Meetups give members the opportunity to meet with one another in an informal setting with no agenda. Held at various member venues - typically in the evenings - Meetups bring together representatives from businesses and nonprofits of all shapes, sizes, and industry.
The Business Leadership Awards
The Staten Island Chamber of Commerce Louis R. Miller Business Leadership Awards honors small business and nonprofit professionals that are exemplary leaders in their businesses and community. The event is held every February and, since its inception, more than 250 people have been recognized with a Louis R. Miller Business Leadership Award.
FDNY & NYPD Awards
The FDNY Valor Awards (Spring) and the NYPD of the Year Awards (Summer) give the Chamber and the business community the chance to thank New York’s Finest and Bravest for their hard work and bravery in keeping Staten Island a safe place to live and work. Police Officers and Firefighters are nominated and featured in the Staten Island Advance. The Chamber’s Safety and Security Committee reviews all nominations and carefully chooses the honorees to be celebrated at the luncheons.
Annual Meeting
Every October, the Chamber holds a membership meeting to update its members on new initiatives and to offer business owners an opportunity to hear from various experts on business-related topics. President and CEO Linda Baran provides a recap of the Chamber’s year and discusses programs and events with members. Plus, a Member Meetup follows the Annual Meeting, giving all of the attendees a chance to connect. Two Annual Meeting tickets are available to all Chamber of Commerce members at no cost.
Table for Ten
Table for Ten is a monthly lunch series built around an idea that the best conversations happen when the circle is small. At each event, there are ten seats, one table, and no agenda. Just good food and a rare hour to connect with fellow business owners without the noise. To help keep the experience fresh and give more members the opportunity to participate, businesses may not register for two consecutive Table for Ten events, and registration is limited to one representative per business.
