YPG Hosts Annual “Business by the Bay” Summer Mixer
On August 8, the Chamber’s Young Professionals Group hosted “Business by the Bay.” The annual event is the largest YPG mixer of the year, and drew more than 50 individuals from the small business community. The event was hosted at Paradise Island, where guests were treated to an open bar, a buffet, and more.
The Young Professionals Group presented an award to Chad Reyes of Lions Pride Leadership, who was one of the original founders of the YPG. “Years ago, Chad and I had a discussion about the importance of engaging young people on Staten Island,” said Linda Baran, President and CEO of the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce. “Chad and I shared the desire to get young professionals more involved not only with the Chamber, but also with our local community and our nonprofits. That was the birth of the YPG.”
Live music was provided by The Black Ties.
The event was sponsored by Aqua Hoff Pools, A Very Special Place, Staten Island Chamber of Commerce Business Guild 1, Clove Lakes Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Comserv Connect, Community Resources of Staten Island, Eden II Programs, Empire State Bank, IDB Bank, Italianissimo, Nonprofit Staten Island, PAC Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning, and Tekie Geek.
