Want to enjoy a memorable day of family fun while making a difference for kids with cancer? Stop by the annual SunriseWALKS Family Carnival on Sunday, June 9 at 10am at Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds!

The annual community event will begin with a walk, followed by fun activities for kids of all ages. The day will feature inflatables, carnival games, face painting, a DJ, and more!

It’s a perfect opportunity for families to get outside and make some special memories together at an affordable price of just $20 per family.

Best of all, when you attend SunriseWALKS, you’ll know that you are giving local kids with cancer and their siblings the priceless gift of a childhood summer! All proceeds from the event will benefit the Lucille & Jay Chazanoff Sunrise Day Camp-Staten Island, a FREE summer day camp for children with cancer and their siblings.

Days at Sunrise are filled with friends, games, songs, and fun—the perfect antidote to long, lonely days at home and in the hospital.

Operated by the Joan & Alan Bernikow JCC of Staten Island, Sunrise Day Camp-Staten Island is a proud member of the Sunrise Association, whose mission is to bring back the joys of childhood to children with cancer and their siblings worldwide.

Sunrise Day Camp-Staten Island serves over 140 children, ages 3½ to 16, yearly.

Recognizing the extraordinary financial demands that a child’s chronic illness can have on a family, Sunrise Day Camp is offered completely free of charge.

It costs $6,000 to send one child to Sunrise Day Camp, but the memories they make there are truly priceless.

Much of this funding is raised at the annual SunriseWALKS event, which promises to be a fun day for families that makes a positive impact on Sunrise campers and their families.

Orit Lender, CEO of the JCC, said, “The JCC loves hosting fun experiences for the whole family, like our Fall Harvest Festival, Purim Carnival, and upcoming SunriseWALKS Family Carnival. We can’t wait to see everyone at SunriseWALKS, where we’re going to have a great time while raising money to send these brave children to Sunrise Day Camp!”

SunriseWALKS will take place at Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds, located at 1131 Manor Road, on Sunday, June 9 from 10am-1pm. Families with children of all ages are invited to attend.
