Job Fair Draws 75 Employers and More Than 300 Attendees

On October 25, the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce and the College of Staten Island hosted the Connect for Success Job Fair at the Hilton Garden Inn. The event brought together a diverse range of employers, eager job seekers, and enthusiastic students from across the island. With 75 employers present, more than 300 job seekers, and nearly 100 students, the job fair provided a valuable platform for fostering connections and exploring employment opportunities.

The event was sponsored by A Very Special Place, Enterprise Holdings, Los Niños Services, ProMed, Staten Island Media Group, Spectrum, and State Farm / Larissa Buerano Agency.

Representatives from 75 different companies, across various industries, assembled under one roof, ready to engage with prospective employees. From small businesses to large corporations, the employers showcased the diversity and strength of Staten Island's business community. With job openings available in sectors such as healthcare, finance, retail, hospitality, and more, attendees were presented with a broad range of opportunities suitable for different skill sets and interests.

Over 300 job seekers, consisting of individuals from various professional backgrounds and experience levels, had the opportunity to interact with the employers directly. Attendees made use of the event's setup, which included designated booths for each employer, to engage in meaningful discussions, present their resumes, and establish connections with potential employers. The job fair provided a dynamic environment where job seekers could gather information about vacancies, discuss job requirements, and even participate in preliminary interviews.

The job fair also prioritized the future workforce by encouraging the participation of 100 students from Staten Island's high schools and colleges. These students had the unique advantage of being introduced to the professional world at an early stage. They were able to interact with various employers, learn about different career paths, and gain insights into specific industries.

As the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce continues to prioritize connecting employers and job seekers, events like these job fairs will play a crucial role in strengthening the community and contributing to the island's economic growth.
