On Thursday, July 21, the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce, alongside dozens of members of our borough’s small business community, joined the Staten Island Ferryhawks for the first “Business and Baseball” day at the new Staten Island University Hospital Community Park.

The inaugural event served as a new opportunity for small businesses to showcase their wares and services, all alongside a Ferryhawks game.

The Chamber kicked off the day early by hosting their a Chamber of Commerce Foundation board meeting in one of the ballpark’s suites. Following the meeting, Foundation Chairman Michael Assenza threw the game’s ceremonial first pitch. Kevin Kim, Commissioner of NYC Department of Small Business Services, and Angelina Malerba, owner of several popular Staten Island restaurants, also threw pitches.

As part of the “Business and Baseball” theme, several small businesses tabled on the ballpark’s concourse. Participating Chamber Member businesses included Salmon Real Estate, Comserv Connect, 123 Publish Incorporated, Tekie Geek, LifePalette Coaching, and Empire Outlets NYC.
