Chamber Hosts “Coffee” Sessions with Staten Island Councilmembers
This summer, the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce invited its membership for coffee - with the benefit of three very special guests.
Councilmembers Joe Borelli (D51, July 18), David Carr (D50, August 4), and Kamillah Hanks (D49, August 10) were all present for individual, intimate, and informal sessions with constituents to discuss pressing issues, developments, and opportunities in their respective districts.
The three free “Coffee with Your Councilmember” events, held at the Chamber’s new offices on Richmond Avenue, were part of the Chamber’s continued dedication to providing increased access and advocacy for Staten Island’s small businesses.
Across all three sessions, topics included public safety, workforce, zoning, resiliency, small business fees, the post-pandemic landscape, and much more.
In total, more than 100 representatives from Staten Island’s small business community gathered to meet with their local Councilmembers.
Due to the success of these events, more Town Hall events may be on the horizon. "Thank you to the Chamber of Commerce for giving us the opportunity to meet and speak,” said Councilmember Hanks. “This is just the beginning”
