The Staten Island Chamber of Commerce + Coursera:

A free new benefit for members.

The Staten Island Chamber of Commerce has announced a partnership with the New York State Department of Labor to offer Coursera, a leading online learning platform, as a free membership benefit.

The three major goals of this partnership are to:

  • Help laid off workers develop the knowledge and skills to become re-employed more quickly

  • Allow workers to upskill in order to advance in their careers

  • Enable young adults to create stackable credentials that will lead to future employment.

The 4,300 courses on Coursera are taught by the world’s leading university and industry educators, covering critical business, technology, and data science skills. Learners enrolled will have until the end of the year to complete the courses as part of the Staten Island Chamber’s pilot program.

The initiative also includes Professional Certificates, like the Google IT, Palo Alto Cybersecurity, SAS Programmer, SAS Visual Business Analytics, COVID Tracer, iOS App Developer, Android App Developer, many more designed specifically to train people for high-demand jobs.

Individuals that complete courses with the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce’s Coursera Platform can utilize the Chamber for assistance with resumes and apply for jobs through the Staten Island Chamber’s Job Board
