Troinet: Celebrating 25 Years of Chamber Membership

By Danielle Wiseman, Staten Island Chamber of Commerce

Troinet, a Staten Island-based technology consulting firm, is committed to empowering small and medium sized businesses across New York and New Jersey with reliable, efficient, and cost-effective IT solutions. Troinet’s mission is to make life easier for business owners, using computers to navigate and solve the unique IT challenges that businesses face daily.

Troinet, currently located on Richmond Road, was formed in 1998 by Wayne Roye, CEO, and a group of his friends, who had all just graduated high school. “Troinet started with three kids who got together and said, ‘Hey, why don’t we build some computers?’ So we all went to college and started building computers on the side,” reminisces Roye. “Our claim-to-fame is that we started our company above a shoe repair shop on New Dorp Lane. We were doing it for fun at first, but I think ultimately you can be much more successful when you do what you enjoy.”

Troinet originally began as a computer-building company, designing and implementing computer systems for individuals and businesses throughout Staten Island. As the business took off and the need for technology consulting grew, Roye saw the potential to expand into network management and digital operations. “We recognized early on that clients needed help operating our systems, so we decided to start managing their networks and smoothing out operations,” says Roye. “Once we started technology consulting, we realized that we could build a successful business doing just that, and we kept growing from there.”  “I created Troinet because I didn’t want to follow somebody else’s dream,” says Roye. “I didn’t want to limit myself, and I wanted my mistakes to be my own mistakes. I took a giant leap of faith opening Troinet, but I wanted to show my kids that they could do anything they wanted to, and I wanted to be living proof of that.”

Today, Troinet is an IT firm you seek when looking for strategic advice on improving business operations. Troinet offers a full spectrum of IT services to clients, including 24/7 outsourced IT support, business continuity and disaster recovery, cybersecurity, vulnerability assessments, cloud services, office virtualization, healthcare operations, and so much more. Troinet is an all-encompassing IT services company, leaving no stone unturned when it comes to providing for clients; they ensure that clients are utilizing the tools that best fit their companies. “Rather than giving our clients a device and hoping they can use it, our team actually helps our clients operate their systems, function better, and utilize the proper tools to expand their organization,” adds Roye. “We don’t need a large team, just a smart team, and we help solve problems quickly.”

Roye is also an active member of the Staten Island community, involving himself in as many organizations as he can. In addition to aiding businesses across Staten Island through his work with Troinet, Roye is also a member of the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce, as well as a former member of the Chamber’s Board. Roye is a former member of the Board at Eden II Programs, a recipient of the 40 Under 40 small business award, and a graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program.

This year, Troinet is celebrating its 25th anniversary with the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce. “I’ve been a member of the Staten Island Chamber since Troinet’s inception in 1998,” says Roye. “I knew that the Chamber was an advocate for small businesses, so it was no question that I had to join. I wanted to learn more about the business community, and where better to turn than the Chamber?”

Roye is an ardent advocate of the Chamber, and he encourages new businesses to look to the Chamber for that much-needed support. “The Chamber has always made me feel included,” states Roye. “If I ever have a question, I know that the Chamber’s door is open, and that’s invaluable. The Chamber is there to give you a hug when you need it.”

Congratulations to Troinet on 25 years with the Chamber; we’re proud to celebrate our continuing partnership!
