Small Business Express Extended Through Valentine’s Day

This Valentine’s Day, the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce is offering Staten Islanders a way to show love to their favorite local small businesses who are on Shop Staten Island, the Chamber’s online shop. Starting today and running through February 2022, customers can shop from the comfort of their own homes and receive free shipping and delivery via Small Business Express.

Small Business Express, an initiative sponsored by Amazon, originally operated from November 2021 – December 2021. Following the tremendous success of the program, the Chamber is proud to see Small Business Express continue to serve small businesses.

It’s more important than ever to shop small, and this extension allows Staten Islanders to continue to support local businesses conveniently and affordably, from wherever they are.

A wide variety of local products, including soaps, gift baskets, coffee beans, and much more, are available now. To start shopping, simply visit StatenIsland.ShopWhereILive.com to browse hundreds of items from Staten Island sellers. Staten Island customers are eligible for free shipping on most items.

“We were incredibly proud of the success of Small Business Holiday Express and the purchases it has brought to small shops during a challenging time,” said Linda Baran, Staten Island Chamber of Commerce President and CEO. “We are thankful for Amazon is continuing to partner with us on extending this initiative, and look forward to generating more sales for small businesses through Valentine’s Day and beyond.”

"As a company, part of our story has been helping small businesses use e-commerce to reach new customers, grow, and succeed," said Carley Graham Garcia, Amazon's Head of Community Affairs in New York. "We're thrilled to partner with the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce to help more of our small business neighbors sell their products online, fostering local economic growth on Staten Island."

Staten Island Borough President Vito Fossella, who recently championed supporting restaurants during a “New Years Eve: Part II” event scheduled for January 29, commended the Small Business Express extension and the value it brings to small businesses.

"This online shopping platform created by the Chamber of Commerce continues to be a win for small businesses as they navigate the hurdles thrown at them since the beginning of the pandemic," said Borough President Vito Fossella. "Additionally, the extension of free shipping and delivery courtesy of Amazon will allow Staten Islanders a chance to support local businesses from the comfort of their own home in time for Valentine's Day. I want to thank Linda Baran for being a champion of Staten Island's businesses and finding innovative ways to support the community through public/private partnerships."

The Shop Staten Island Homepage includes quick access to popular items and Valentine’s Day gifts.

Shop Staten Island, a 'Shop Where I Live' e-commerce marketplace, is an e-commerce platform that allows all of Staten Island’s small businesses – regardless of Chamber membership – to list and sell their products online at no cost. The free delivery service will be delivered by local courier I.T.S. Messenger Service at no expense to the merchant or purchaser.

All Staten Island small businesses can list products on Shop Staten Island for free. To start selling, visit Shop Staten Island at https://statenisland.shopwhereilive.com/ and click on the “Sell on the Marketplace” tab to begin creating their own storefront. You can also follow Shop Staten Island’s Facebook and Instagram pages.

Businesses are encouraged to email the Chamber at marketing@sichamber.com or call 718-727-1900 with any questions about the program or the Shop Staten Island website.
