ChamberCON enables members to connect with their peers and provide information at the Chamber's annual Business-to-Business showcase
Over 50 businesses and agencies hailing from wide-ranging categories descended to the Hilton Garden Inn for ChamberCON to connect with their peers and provide information about their company or organization.
The Staten Island Chamber of Commerce’s annual Business-to-Business showcase attracted over 300 people who spent the time swapping business cards and contact information while hopping between the different showcase and information tables.
Some businesses took the opportunity to attend one of the Chamber’s largest gatherings of the year to spread the word about new offerings/services while new members came to introduce themselves to established businesses and hear some veteran advice. Either way, ChamberCON was a fantastic avenue to help their business grow and possibly gain some referrals or leads.
The experts on hand included specialists in banking, education, entertainment, health care, insurance, law, marketing, media, utilities, and more. That diverse audience helped serve as a great reminder of the distinct voices that comprise Chamber membership.
President and CEO Linda Baran kicked off the festivities by presenting updates on programs and initiatives that have occurred in the past year at the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce.
Joseph Torres of Merrill Lynch, co-chair of the Membership Council, along with Chamber chairman Glen V. Cutrona A.I.A., of Cutrona Architecture PLLC, cited longstanding businesses who achieved gold and silver milestones with the Chamber in 2018.
The Behrins Law Firm, Bob Mims Heating and Air Conditioning, and Salmon Real Estate received awards for 50 years of membership. Meanwhile, the businesses who received plaques for reaching 25 years as Chamber members were: AAA Thrifty Exterminating, A Taste of Honey, Angiuli & Gentile LLP, Classic Pharmacy, Clove Auto Body Inc., Computers & Parts Unlimited, Constructive Concepts Inc., Eden II School, FerryAds.com, Greg T. Iliceto CPA LLC, Montalbano Pool & Spa, Parking Systems Valet Service, Recovery Works Counseling, and Richmond View Auto Collision Inc.
Keynote speaker Red Katz, who is the author of Live Your YOUlogy and profiles six secrets to discovering and living your true passion, gave a passionate speech and told the audience, “You have the power to live the life you want to live.”
Lastly, the information-packed event wrapped up by providing members with greater exposure with a Business to Community (B2C) showcase. The community was invited to attend ChamberCON to learn more about Chamber members and their services.
