The prestigious Chairman’s Award, the highest honor in the Chamber’s Building Awards ceremony, was awarded to two projects this year, one residential and one corporate. The first recipient of the Chairman’s Award was the Amboy Road Residence, submitted by JVN Restoration and Cutrona Architecture, PLLC. The site’s dimensions, 45 feet wide by 278 feet deep, make for an extraordinarily unique home, featuring a stunning main residence and a multi-terraced rear yard.
This year’s second recipient of the Chairman’s Award was Corporate Commons Three, submitted by The Nicotra Group. This 330,000 square foot class-A office building is complete with modern finishes and amenities that you would expect to find in Manhattan.
The Best in Green Award celebrates one entry that best reflects the principles of green design. This year’s Best in Green winner was Corporate Commons Three, which was submitted by The Nicotra Group.
The Neighborhood Improvement Award celebrates an entry that elevates the aesthetic and cultural appeal of the surrounding neighborhood. This year’s Neighborhood Improvement Award winner was Pavillion on the Terrace.
The Best in Green and Neighborhood Improvement Awards were sponsored by Empire State Bank, Salmon Real Estate, Sherwin Williams, and Taranto Construction.
The Albert P. Melniker Award, sponsored by Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, is a Discretionary Award presented to a special person, group, or structure that adds to the quality of life of the Staten Island community. This year, the Albert P. Melniker Award was given to the Almer G. Russell Pavillion at Conference House Park. The pavillion was named in honor of Almer G. Russell, a former Tottenville resident who was killed in action during World War I. The newly renovated, 3,000 square foot water and wind resistant structure is now open to the public.
