Applications Now Open for the 2023 Building Awards

The Staten Island Chamber of Commerce Building Awards Program, now in its 61st year, celebrates the best in construction and design for commercial and residential properties across Staten Island, as judged by industry experts. Each year, entries are submitted by homeowners with new construction or renovations, contractors, engineers, architects, interior designers, landscapers, and craftsmen.

Submissions for the prestigious award ceremony are open now. All submitted projects must be completed by September 2023 (so completion is prior to the judging day). Projects are not limited to those completed in 2023.  Any structure or building of any size or project type (including new structures, renovations, alterations, redesigns, etc.) designed and/or constructed by a Staten Island-based professional is eligible.

Applicants can click here to submit their projects.

Applicants that submit their projects by July 31, 2023 will receive a $100 discount on their application. Applications will close on September 15.

All submissions are reviewed by a panel of judges, and awards will be distributed on the day of the event. All award recipients are also covered at length in a Sunday edition of the Staten Island Advance, following the event.

“Everybody has their own personal tastes and preferences when it comes to buildings,” said Chamber President and CEO Linda Baran. “But that’s the great part about the Building Awards. Our judges are true professionals with years in the industry and, when they visit the sites, they look for quality materials, expert craftsmanship, and exquisite design. The Awards are all about the excellent work our building and design industries do here on Staten Island.”

The Building Awards Luncheon is scheduled for Friday, December 1 at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas. Sponsorship opportunities are now available, and registration and further event details will be announced in the coming weeks.
