Young Professional Group

Future Business Leaders

YPG is a meaningful networking faction of the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce made up of dedicated, talented young professionals ranging in age from 21-40 in Staten Island. The mission of the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Group is to engage and empower young professionals to become future leaders by providing personal and professional development opportunities through programming, networking and civic involvement. Through this program, young professionals build relationships, develop personally and professionally and contribute to the economic development and high quality living of the community. The YPG continuously works to:

  • Create networking opportunities
  • Provide opportunities for educational and professional development in a variety of areas
  • Build awareness of governmental process and issues
  • Provide an outlet for volunteer information and opportunities
  • Create and cultivate our future leaders
  • Work to keep our young professionals in Staten Island
  • Contribute to and enrich the community

YPG Leadership Council

The YPG Leadership Council meets on a monthly basis to guide the planning and success of the YPG at large. The council is comprised of young professionals who plan events and programs, conduct member outreach and participate in the mentor program.

The Chamber believes strongly in the importance of grooming future leaders in Staten Island, and as such, the YPG Leadership Council was recently formed. The Chamber selected 12 individuals from the YPG who have exemplified leadership and commitment to moving the general YPG agenda forward to participate in this council. They meet monthly to coordinate signature events for the general YPG such as a Legislative Forum and Business by the Beach. The group also takes part in professional development workshops. Their participation in quality workshops will ultimately facilitate the development of their skills and techniques as future leaders. It is our goal that these skill sets act as an impetus for future involvement as successful leaders in the community.
