The Staten Island Chamber of Commerce’s annual membership meeting and community showcase has grown more powerful with a new name and format. And its name is ChamberCON.
The event is the one time each year that the Chamber members are brought together for a CONference of sorts. The information-packed event takes place Thursday, Oct. 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn (1100 South Ave.). National Grid is the event sponsor while Con Edison, Partners in Sound, and Northfield Bank are partner sponsors.
The keynote presentation will feature entrepreneur and professional speaker Red Katz. His speeches have highlighted how empowering your organization to achieve more can be accomplished by helping your people rediscover, recharge, and reboot their passions.
As an entrepreneur for the last 20 years, Katz has built businesses and motivated large teams, raised capital and streamlined processes to dramatically exceed revenue and profit objectives. His book, Live Your YOUlogy, profiles six secrets to discovering and living your true passion.
The breakfast portion of the annual affair will feature President and CEO Linda Baran’s chamber update on events and initiatives that have occurred in the past year at the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce.
Joseph Torres of Merrill Lynch, co-chair of the Membership Council, along with Glen V. Cutrona, A.I.A. of Cutrona Architecture PLLC, will then recognize businesses who achieved gold and silver milestones with the Chamber in 2018. The Behrins Law Firm, Bob Mims Heating and Air Conditioning, and Salmon Real Estate will be saluted for 50 years of membership. Meanwhile, the businesses that reached 25 years as Chamber members include: AAA Thrifty Exterminating, A Taste of Honey, Angiuli & Gentile LLP, Classic Pharmacy, Clove Auto Body Inc., Computers & Parts Unlimited, Constructive Concepts Inc., Eden II School, FerryAds.com, Greg T. Iliceto CPA LLC, Montalbano Pool & Spa, Parking Systems Valet Service, Recovery Works Counseling, and Richmond View Auto Collision Inc.
The chance to shine for participants takes place from 10 to 11 a.m. during the Business-to-Business showcase and networking portion. This hour-long session offers business owners an opportunity to hear from various experts on business-related topics and will feature specialists in banking, beauty, education, entertainment, health care, insurance, law, marketing, media, utilities, and more. A LIMITED NUMBER OF SHOWCASE TABLES ARE AVAILABLE FOR NONPROFITS (STARTING AT $125) AND OTHER BUSINESSES/ORGANIZATIONS (STARTING AT $250).
For an even bigger impact, the annual event has added a Business-to-Community showcase from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. During this time, participants can showcase their business or agency for all members of the community who are invited to attend for free. This two-hour window provides greater exposure and allows participants to reach a wider audience.
