Staten Island Chamber of Commerce’s 32nd Annual Richard B. Irwin Memorial Twilight 9-Hole Golf

Overcast skies couldn’t dampen the fun during the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce’s 32nd annual Richard B. Irwin Memorial Twilight 9-Hole Golf, Games & Grub Outing, held recently at the South Shore Golf Course.

This year’s affair also featured more than just golf as participants had the opportunities to compete in other games such as miniature golf, bocce, and cornhole. 
After play concluded, participants networked a bit and enjoyed a barbecue-style dinner at the Grand Oaks Country Club.
Two hole-in-one contests featured a chance to win a Harley Davidson Sportster Motorcycle, courtesy of Harley Davidson of Staten Island, and a four-day/three-night stay in Myrtle Beach at Legends Resort, courtesy of American Golf. Basket raffles and 50/50 were also held at the event. 
Capturing first place in the team competition was Paul Mattsson and Gene Avilla (Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home). The second-place team was comprised of John Tardy, Vin Tardy, Charles Tardy (JVN Restoration Inc.), and Glen Cutrona (Cutrona Architecture, PLLC) while the foursome of Frank Scarangello, Tom Scarangello, Randy Horowitz, and Peggy Guinnessey (SCARAN) took third.
In closest to the line action on the 2nd hole, Bob Bentson was tops for the men and Terry Tarangelo was the top woman finisher. The longest drive competition on the 5th hole was captured by Guinnessey (women) and Sal Picciallo (men). 
Christopher M. Lee from the Port Authority of NY & NJ and John Maccarelli from TD Bank served as the outing’s committee chairmen. Committee members were: Allen Bentson (Bentson Insurance Group), Danielle Johnsen (Digital Edge), Ray Laursen (Country Awards & Custom Trophy), Richard Nichilo (Hand in Hand Real Estate), Gary Perone (Victory Sports Group), Rita Pirrone (Richmond County Savings Bank, a division of NYCB), Alan Poritz (Clean Swift Maintenance, Inc.), Leonard Rampulla (Rampulla Associates Architects, L.L.P.), and Reba Sherman (Atlantic Business Products).
National Grid and TD Bank served as Eagle Sponsors, Atlantic Salt was a Par Sponsor, and Tremer + Tremer, P. C. was the Games Sponsor.
