In response to a series of new state laws aimed at combating sexual harassment in the workplace, all NYS employers are required to develop and communicate a sexual harassment prevention policy and provide sexual harassment prevention training to all employees on an annual basis.
All employers must have distributed a policy meeting minimum standards defined by the State by October 9, 2018. Furthermore, all employees must receive training meeting state minimum standards no later than October 9, 2019, with new employees trained “as soon as possible.”
The Staten Island Chamber of Commerce is offering the attorney-approved course through our affiliation with the Business Council of New York State, Inc. Members can connect to the training course – which is online, interactive, and accessible 24/7 — directly through an online portal at Gillespie Associates for convenient access.
The course meets and exceeds the minimum standards developed by the Department of Labor and the Division of Human Rights. This program also satisfies training requirements of New York City’s new sexual harassment law.
Employers with administrative access can track employee completion and will receive a certificate of completion to each employee once training is complete.
