Ms. Cabrera joined the NYCID team in 2015 as the Assistant Director of the Staten Island Young Adult at Tottenville High School. She then served as SIYABC’s Program Director. The program offers students in danger of dropping out a chance to make up their credits and earn a traditional high school diploma by providing them with a rigorous academic program, tutoring, supportive counseling services, career preparation training and paid internships.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Stony Brook University in 2008 then went on to become a New York State Licensed Master Social Worker in 2013. Her professional focus has been working with at promise youth ages 17-21.

She understands the complexity of the challenges our young people face as they develop the skills they need to obtain employment.
