Several members of the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce were in attendance for the Staten Island portion of the Broadway in the Boros event on Friday afternoon at Lighthouse Point Plaza in St. George. The stage was located at the footsteps of the entrance to the National Lighthouse Museum and spectators were encouraged to take a tour of the Chamber member after the performances.
Sponsored by the Mayor’s Office of Media & Entertainment, members from two different Broadway hits perform a few musical numbers from their shows in various boroughs this summer. On Friday, hundreds of fans spent their sunny afternoon listening to members from The Band’s Visit, which last month won 10 Tony Awards including Best New Musical. Those numbers were followed with performances from members of fan favorite Wicked, which is Broadway’s sixth-longest running show.
